Join us in celebrating Wear It Purple Day

Learn more about how you can show your support for LGBTQIA+ youth this Wear It Purple Day.

On Friday 29 August, Aussies are invited to sport their best purple outfits to show support and solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community. By wearing purple, you're letting rainbow youth know they're accepted, respected, safe and should be proud of who they are.

Bold Voices, Bright Futures

This year’s theme is "Bold Voices, Bright Futures", with artwork by Lee Evatt (He/Them), winner of Wear It Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition to create a campaign message and artwork in celebration of LGBTQIA+ people openly and visibly achieving their dreams in sport, art, science and more!

Show Your Support

Seeing their peers proudly rocking purple on Wear It Purple Day can help to make those in the LGBTQIA+ community feel supported, seen, and accepted. This simple act can raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and give a huge boost to their confidence and well-being. Knowing there are allies around who support their journey is incredibly empowering, so we encourage you to get involved!

Head to Pacific Werribee and grab some awesome purple gear! Whether it’s a beanie, a new jumper, vibrant nail polish, or a head-to-toe purple ensemble, any effort to wear purple on 29 August will make a big impact.

Don’t forget to mark Friday 29 August in your calendar! Let’s make this Wear It Purple Day the most colourful and powerful one yet and stand strong with our LGBTQIA+ community.
