Project update

Pacific Werribee Project Update January 2024

January 2024

As part of our commitment to regular, ongoing communication with our community we wish to provide you with an update on works to expect over the course of 2024.

Works to date

We are pleased to report that works are progressing well and are on schedule.

As we start a new year, we are delighted to advise the project has achieved the following milestones:

  1. 70% of carpark works have been completed
  2. Works inside Target and 12 specialty tenancies are complete
  3. The majority of the works remain on track to be completed by the end of 2024, in line with our original program.

We thank our community for your ongoing patience.

2024 activities

The majority of the first stage of works were completed by the end of 2023, with activities continuing into early 2024. These activities recommenced on 10 January.

Stage Two will occur predominately in the Myer end of the centre. Works will occur in stages, commencing in January 2024 and expected to be concluded before Christmas 2024. These works necessitate the temporary closure or relocation of the following stores:

  • H&M, Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Sportsgirl, Dotti, Black Art, Peter Jackson, Mecca, Mocha, T2, Pandora, Melbourne Jewellers, General Pants, Timezone and Martini & Co will close in early 2024, and are anticipated to reopen in the middle of this year.
  • Some retailers will temporarily operate out of alternative tenancies from early 2024 until the middle of the year, including:
    • Mecca will relocate to a store next to Oscar Wylee (Northern Mall)
    • Seed will relocate to a store next to Strand (Northern Mall)
    • Peter Jackson will relocate to the ex-Edge tenancy (JB Hi-Fi Mall)
    • Pandora will relocate to a kiosk opposite Converse (Northern Mall)
  • Village Cinemas, Myer, JB Hi-Fi, Grill’d, San Churro, The Sporting Globe and La Porchetta will close in February.
  • Bras N Things will relocate permanently to a new location opposite its existing store, and will trade from this location from March.

Please note it is still too early to confirm final dates, and that the indicative timing outlined above is still subject to change. We will provide further details as progressive staging plans are finalised.

Carpark works will continue on the lower ground, ground and level 1 of the Southern multideck car park, adjacent to the Myer tenancy, as well as the on-grade parking adjacent to the Tavern. See below maps of current car park closures.

In the first quarter of 2024, we will welcome back Nandos, Dumpling Story, Mama Mee and Pancake Parlour to the Urban Diner, and introduce Kinn Thai and Lenny’s Ice Creamery. The Library will also relocate back to its permanent home early this year.

Changes to accommodate activities

Some changes are necessary throughout the centre to accommodate these activities:

  • Hoardings will be erected to secure the site
  • Changes to carpark access and some carparking bays will temporarily be closed
  • General construction impacts such as noise, dust and vibration.

Activities will occur in coordinated stages to minimise the impact on our community, and we will proactively communicate with you ahead of these various stages of work.

In accordance with our comprehensive construction management plan, we will continue to deploy a number of mitigation strategies to limit the impact of these works on our valued retailers, customers and community, including scheduling works that will have the greatest impact for outside peak trading hours, wherever possible. We will also ensure operational activities necessary for the ongoing management and maintenance of the centre align with construction activities, where possible.

The safety and wellbeing of our entire Pacific Werribee community remains our number one priority.

Next steps

We remain committed to providing regular updates as these works progress and thank you for your ongoing patience during this time.
