As part of our commitment to regular, ongoing communication with our retail partners we wish to provide you with an update on key upcoming works.
As per our last update to you, we are embarking on the next stage of the project, which will occur predominately in the Myer-end of the centre. These works necessitate the temporary closure or relocation of several stores.
A number of these impacted stores will close over the next few weeks. These are:
Note: dates are based on information at a point in time and are subject to change
These temporary closures are in addition to the following stores which have recently closed in the same area: Werribee Tavern, JB Hi-Fi, T2, Melbourne Jewellers, Martini & Co, Mecca, Mocha, Seed, Black Art, Swarovski, Peter Jackson, Subaru Service Centre, General Pants, Pandora, Timezone, H&M, Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Sportsgirl and Dotti.
A number of these stores have relocated or are relocating to temporary spaces for the duration of the works:
These closures will result in the installation of hoardings throughout this area of the centre. We have a construction management plan in place to mitigate the impact of these changes on our community.
While it is still too early to confirm final timings, we expect that the works that necessitate these temporary store closures will conclude in stages in the second half of the year. We will continue to keep you updated as final timings are confirmed.
As part of our construction management plan, we will begin installing a protected walkway through the JB Hi-Fi mall, between Myer and the Food Court this week. Once completed, customers will be directed to travel through this walkway in order to move between these areas of the centre.
We are pleased to confirm that the works occurring in the area of the Ground Floor car park closest to the Michael Hill entrance have come to a close, with this area reopening on Thursday the 1st of February.
Works commenced in the Ground Floor area of the car park near the Seed/Swarovski entrance to the centre on Tuesday 30 January. We expect this area to reopen at the end of March 2024.
We are pleased to advise that the works taking place in the Urban Diner are nearing completion. This means that the restaurant retailers that were closed for the project works will shortly return to their premises to begin to fitout so as to reopen over the coming months. We will also be welcoming some exciting new restaurants into the Urban Diner.
In addition, we can confirm that The Library is on track to reopen in their original location by early March.
